Just moments after Robert F. Kennedy gave his victory speech in Los Angeles California just after midnight on June 5th, 1968, he was shot by an assassin, Sirhan Sirhan. I went to sleep knowing only that Kennedy had won. I awakened the next morning to the stunning news that Kennedy had been shot and was in extremely critical condition. Here is NBC Radio News On The Hour from June 5th, 1968 at 10:00 AM. I recorded this from my dorm room at the University of Florida In Gainesville. I just found this nearly 50-year old reel to reel tape and played it on a recorder bought on eBay.
